A colt by Jeu St Eloi (Fr) from Jimmy and Eileen Furlong's Thistletown Stud topped the opening day of the Tattersalls Ireland November National Hunt Sale at €58,000. Return Of Mares Shows a Six Percent Decrease in the Foal Crop of 2024

This year has seen a 6% decrease in the number of live foals registered to date in the General Stud Book, according to the Return of Mares, which has been published by Weatherbys. The returns to September 30, 2024 show that a total of 12,578 foals have been born in Britain and Ireland, 840 fewer than the 2023 figure of 13,438. The catalogue for the four-day Tattersalls Ireland November National Hunt Sale is now online. Featuring 887 lots from Nov. 10-13, the sale will begin at 10 a.m. daily. The first day's trade will feature NH-bred yearlings, followed by foals with the final day devoted to mares. Each day will start alphabetically from the letter "T". Order Of St George Gelding Ties Record At July Store Sale

A joint-record sale price was created in Thursday's session of the Tattersalls Ireland July Store Sale when lot 388A, a gelded son of Order Of St George (Ire), brought €65,000 from Ballycrystal Stud's Matthew Flynn O'Connor.
