Domestic buyers dominated the concluding Part 2 session of this year's October Yearling Sale at Arqana on Thursday where a Pinatubo (Ire) filly offered by the La Motteraye Consignment sold to Emeric Guétin on behalf of Ecurie des Charmes for €125,000.  Pinatubo is just three winners off Sergei Prokofiev--who has 21--in a wide-open first-season sires' championship in Britain and Ireland. The Ocala Breeders' Sales Company's October Yearling Sale concluded with average and median in line with 2023 figures despite a frenzied rescheduling of the two-day auction as Hurricane Milton closed in on Central Florida Tuesday. Through two sessions, 289 yearlings sold for $5,779,100. Weather Worries: OBS October Sale Now to Begin Monday

With Tropical Storm Milton expected to make landfall in Florida as a major hurricane by midweek, the Ocala Breeders' Sales Company's October Yearling Sale has been moved forward a day, with a first session beginning Monday at 3 p.m. The auction's second session will begin at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday. Tattersalls is offering for resale 17 juveniles bought at last year's October Yearling Sale for 11,055,000gns. The two-day OBS October Yearling Sale came to a close Wednesday in Ocala, Florida, with moderate declines in the relevant statistical categories. Following on the heels of a strong Select Sale Tuesday, the action Wednesday was a bit more subdued, with 256 open yearlings reported as sold for gross receipts of $4,367,900.
