Kenny LeJeune, a highly respected horseman who operated a training center in Ocala for many years, succumbed to cancer last week at age 60. OBS October Opens Tuesday

Delayed a week after switching dates with the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic Yearling Sale, the Ocala Breeders Sales Company's October Sale begins its two-day run Tuesday. The sale kicks off at noon Tuesday with a mix of 59 2-year-olds and horses of racing age, followed by 169 selected yearlings. Wednesday's session begins at 10:30 a.m. with an open session of 420 yearlings. Supplements will immediately follow the regular catalogue each day. Gulfstream To Add 3-Year-Old Stakes

Recognizing that stakes horses have limited options as to where to run due to shutdown of several tracks, Gulfstream has begun the process of adding new races to its schedule, including an Apr. 25 stakes for 3-year-olds. The Ocala Breeders' Sale Company has rescheduled its 2020 Spring and June Sales of 2-Year-Olds in Training in response to the COVID-19 pandemic situation. The Spring Sale, originally scheduled for Apr. 21-24, will now be held June 9-12. The June Sale, which was slated for June 10-12 will now be held July 14-17. Davidson Killed, Fadlovich Injured in Car Accident

Trainer Coty Lee Davidson, 33, was killed and jockey Megan Fadlovich, 30, was injured in a single-vehicle accident on I-75S at County Road 329 in Florida just after midnight Feb. 14, Gainesville.com reported. Neither were wearing seatbelts. The vehicle suddenly veered off the road and overturned, ejecting Fadlovich from the passenger seat and over a guardrail.
