The 52nd annual Eclipse Awards will air live on FanDuel TV and Racetrack Television Network (RTN) Thursday from The Breakers Palm Beach in Florida. According to figures released Thursday by Equibase, a robust $1,309,837,841 in purse money was paid out during the year in the U.S., an increase of 10.92% and an all-time record for the sport. A $1.7-trillion omnibus spending bill that includes language that would give the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) more authority over the Horse Racing Integrity and Safety Authority (HISA) passed in the House of Representatives Friday.
