Dutrow Licensed to Train in Kentucky

Richard E. Dutrow, Jr., was approved for a training license by the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission (KHRC)'s license review committee Tuesday. The voice vote was unanimous and without drama, and Dutrow's license goes into effect immediately. Saratoga Season Passes on Sale Wednesday

Season passes for the upcoming Saratoga Race Course summer meet will go on sale Wednesday at NYRA.com/Saratoga. Available for $75 through the end of May, a season pass provides fans with admission for all 40 days of the Saratoga meet, including the Aug. 26 Travers Day card, at the equivalent of less than $2 per day. New Single Admission Policy for Saratoga

For the first time, the 2023 Saratoga Race Course meet will have one admission price for all fans, with the daily admission rate--$7 when purchased 24 hours in advance and $10 day of--providing fans with access to both the track's Clubhouse and Grandstand. NYRA Offers Shipper Bonus

The New York Racing Association will offer bonuses to horses shipping in to race at Aqueduct in March and April. Trainers of horses that are not stabled at a NYRA track will see a bonus of $1,000 credited to the owner's account towards shipping expenses. This bonus excludes steeplechase races. The horse must be declared an official starter to be eligible. In addition, the horse will not be eligible if placed on a poor performance or veterinarian list.

The nominees for the Mar. 4 GIII Gotham S. at Aqueduct include four horses that have been under the care of Hall of Fame trainer Bob Baffert, but were nominated under the names of new trainers. Bob Baffert has certainly taken his lumps ever since it was discovered that Medina Spirit (Protonico) tested positive for a banned substance in the 2021 GI Kentucky Derby. New Bonus Programs Offered for '23 Belmont Spring/Summer Meet

The New York Racing Association (NYRA) plans to rollout a pair of new bonus programs for juvenile horses competing at the 2023 spring/summer meet at Belmont Park, which will run from Thursday, May 4 through Sunday, July 9. The newly-launched starter bonus will apply to scheduled juvenile dirt races and awards $2,000 [$1,000 to the owner, $1,000 to the trainer] to each official starter in the race.
