Charlatan Owners Pledge Percentage of Arkansas Derby Earnings to New Vocations

Connections of 'TDN Rising Star' Charlatan (Speightstown), the morning-line favorite in the first division of Saturday's GI Arkansas Derby, will donate 10% of their net earnings to support New Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program. New Vocation to Hold Silent Auction on LA Derby Day

Owners with horses racing at the Fair Grounds on Louisiana Derby Day Saturday are being encouraged to pledge a percentage of their earnings to support New Vocations efforts. All funds raised will go directly to support the horses currently at the Louisiana facility, which has already served over 50 retired racehorses since opening last year. Louisiana HBPA Teams with Fair Grounds for Aftercare Support

The Louisiana Horsemen's Benevolent and Protective Association and Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots have partnered on an initiative to financially support racehorse aftercare. During the entire Fair Grounds' 2019-2020 Thoroughbred racing season, consenting Louisiana HBPA member owners have contributed $5 per starter to racehorse aftercare. At the conclusion of the meet, the track will then match that dollar amount. More than 450 Thoroughbreds traveled from 26 states to compete in the fifth annual New Vocations All-Thoroughbred Charity Horse Show, held Sept. 6-8 in conjunction with The Jockey Club's Thoroughbred Incentive Program (T.I.P.) at the Kentucky Horse Park near Lexington. SF Bloodstock Donates $100,000 to Co-Sponsor New Vocations Indoor Arena

New Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program announced today that leading owner SF Bloodstock has donated $100,000 to co-sponsor the aftercare facility's indoor arena. In doing so, they join co-sponsor Stonestreet Stables, who were the first to pledge their support, and Fasig-Tipton, who are co-sponsoring the ring in honor of the late Bill Graves.
