The upcoming Horses-in-Training Sales series, to be held at Leopardstown, Ascot, Doncaster and Kildare, was announced by Goffs on Thursday. The boutique Goffs Champions Sale returns to Leopardstown as the opening event of the Irish Champions Festival on Saturday, Sept. 14. First held in 2014, the 10-year average is €188,000, with a median of €150,000 and a clearance rate of 69% for catalogues ranging between four and 12 lots. Banned Substances Seized From Kildare Farm

Animal remedies banned for use in racehorses were seized during a raid of a farm in Monasterevin, Co. Kildare, on Tuesday, the Irish Field reports. The raid was conducted by the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine acting on their own investigations and information received. Oghill House Stud's Pat Hyland Dies at 78

Irish racing and breeding has lost a much-loved member of its community with the death on Saturday of Pat Hyland of Oghill House Stud. He was 78. With his brother Hugh and nephew John, Hyland ran the successful Kildare farm which incorporates the family's own broodmare band along with a thriving boarding operation.
