Ramseys Fire Back at Ward in Court Filing Over Money Dispute

The multiple Eclipse Award-winning owners/breeders Ken and Sarah Ramsey asked a Kentucky court Aug. 12 to oppose a recent motion for summary judgment in a lawsuit filed by trainer Wesley Ward over the married couple's alleged failure to pay $903,274 in training bills. According to the Blood-Horse, which first reported the story, the money dispute now involves "Ward retaining control of 30 horses" owned by the Ramseys. The couple's attorney wrote in a court filing that this is forcing the Ramseys to incur "tens of thousands of dollars in expenses"...

Two Trainers Sue Ramseys for Nearly $2 Million in Unpaid Bills

Trainers Wesley Ward and Mike Maker have filed separate lawsuits against owners Ken and Sarah Ramsey over unpaid training bills. Ward is alleging that the Ramseys piled up unpaid bills totaling $974,790. Maker claims the Ramseys owe him $905,357. The story was first reported in Paulick Report. Ken and Sarah Ramsey extended their record number of Churchill Downs wins with their milestone 500th victory at the Louisville oval Sunday.
