Purses Increased on Fasig-Tipton Juvenile Stakes

A pair of juvenile stakes scheduled for June 20 will feature purses of $100,000 each, up from the initial amount of $75,000. The Fasig-Tipton Debutante and Fasig-Tipton Futurity will be contested at five furlongs on Santa Anita's main track and serve as a prelude to Fasig-Tipton's 2-year-old in Training Sale at Santa Anita June 23. Del Mar Releases Fall Stakes Schedule

Del Mar Thoroughbred Club outlined its fall stakes schedule consisting of 16 stakes worth $2,250,000 and will be presented through its 15-day Bing Crosby Season, beginning  Oct. 31. Del Mar has added a pair of California-bred sprint stakes for juveniles that were not on its agenda the past two seasons. Curlin Colt Graduates in Runhappy Juvenile Stakes

Pico d'Oro stormed to the lead in the dying strides to break his maiden in stakes company Sunday at Ellis Park. The bay colt, a well-beaten sixth on debut at Churchill Downs June 19, overcame traffic troubles to close for second, 3 1/4-lengths behind the front-running Medicine Trail, going six furlongs at this track July 19.
