Triple Crown winner Justify (Scat Daddy) was represented by his first foal the evening of Friday, Jan. 3, when Foreign Affair (Exchange Rate) produced a bay filly at Amaroo Farm in Kentucky, Coolmore reported on its website. She was bred by Audley Farm, who acquired Foreign Affair for $385,000 at last year's Fasig-Tipton November Sale. "She's got great bone and plenty of leg, a quality first foal for the mare. West: Coolmore Buys Half-Interest in Maximum Security

A half-interest in likely champion 3-year-old male Maximum Security (New Year's Day) has been purchased by Coolmore, according to the colt's owner, Gary West. The story was first reported by Daily Racing Form. West responded to the TDN with a text that read, "I can confirm that Coolmore has purchased a half-interest in both the racing and breeding rights of Maximum Security.
