IRE Incentive Scheme Expanded

The IRE Incentive scheme, an initiative designed to stimulate and fortify Irish Thoroughbred breeding, racing and sales, will expand to include over 200 races in Ireland and Britain in 2022, according to Horse Racing Ireland (HRI). Positive Trends In Irish Racing Figures

The number of horses in training and racehorse owners in Ireland rose year-on-year in 2021, and were among numerous positive figures released by Horse Racing Ireland reflecting on the state of the Irish Thoroughbred industry. There were 10,579 horses in training in Ireland last year, which was up 14.4% from 2020 and 18.2% from 2019. Likewise, the owner retention rate of 80.7% up was 9.6% on 2020 and 8% on 2019. IRE Incentive Races Added in Britain

Additional British races have been added to Horse Racing Ireland's IRE Incentive scheme. IRE Incentive races will be held at Nottingham, Newbury, Pontefract, York, Musselburgh, Salisbury and Goodwood in August and September. The IRE Incentive scheme awards a €10,000 Irish Sales voucher to the owners of Irish-bred winners of designated races. Vouchers can be spent on Irish-breds at Irish public auction Sales. IRE Incentive Scheme Paying Dividends

Horse Racing Ireland's IRE Incentive Scheme has awarded over 35 sales vouchers, each worth €10,000, to 31 individual owners to date. Winner number 36 in the new scheme came in Thursday's Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies' Maiden at Leopardstown, won by the Dermot Weld-trained Homeless Songs (Ire) (Frankel {GB}), a homebred for Moyglare Stud.
