Air Quality Concerns Cause Midwest Cancellations

Dangerous air quality conditions caused by wildfires in Canada have forced the cancellation of the live racing programs at Hawthorne Race Course in suburban Chicago and at Horseshoe Indianapolis further to the south and east. "Based on the poor air quality in Indiana today's races have been canceled," a tweet from the track read. Horseshoe Indianapolis Opens 2023 Season Tuesday

Horseshoe Indianapolis is set to open for its 21st season of live racing on Tuesday, Apr. 18 with a 10-race card consisting of nine Thoroughbred races and one for Quarter Horses. HVAF Donation Made at Horseshoe Indianapolis

Horseshoe Indianapolis made a delivery to Helping Veterans and Families of Indiana (HVAF) Friday, Dec. 16 from the special Veteran's Day event held during live racing. 2023 Race Dates Approved For Horseshoe Indianapolis

Racing dates for the 21st season of Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse racing at Horseshoe Indianapolis were approved by the Indiana Horse Racing Commission (IHRC) at their regular meeting Dec. 1 held at Harrah's Hoosier Park. Wagering Up at Horseshoe Indianapolis

While waiting on final information from some non-commingled locations, Horseshoe Indianapolis estimated that its total all-sources handle for the track's 2022 combined Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse meet will be nearly $235 million, showing an increase of 5.2% over figures in 2021.
