Two Bodies Found at Ellis Park

Two bodies were found at in the stable area at Ellis Park in Henderson Kentucky Tuesday morning, according to the Henderson County Sherriff's Office. "On August 27th, at approximately 12:35 a.m., deputies were dispatched to Ellis Park Racing & Gaming, in reference to an unconscious subject in the back(stretch) area," read a press release from the sheriff's office. Ellis Park Reopens To Public For Friday Racing

A day after an 'unexpected water issue' caused by Wednesday evening storms forced the closure to the public of Ellis Park in Henderson, Kentucky, track officials announced Friday morning that it would be business as usual for the afternoon's live program. Ellis Park Friday Card Moved to Monday

Ellis Park has postponed its nine-race Friday card to Monday, due to an excessive heat warning in the Henderson, Kentucky area. The entirety of Friday's card will shift to Monday and will not be re-drawn. First post will be 11:45 a.m. The final three days of the Ellis Park meet will now be held Saturday to Monday. At this time there are no changes to Saturday or Sunday's cards and first posts each day are scheduled at 11:45 a.m.

CDI Signs Agreement to Buy Ellis Park

Churchill Downs Incorporated announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Ellis Park Racing & Gaming in Henderson, Kentucky, from Enchantment Holdings, LLC, an affiliate of Laguna Development Corporation, for total consideration of $79 million in cash, subject to certain working capital and other purchase price adjustments. Ellis Updates COVID-19 Protocols

Ellis Park Racing & Gaming has increased track and racing protocols/testing requirements, effective immediately. All jockeys and valets must have a negative COVID-19 test result taken prior to being admitted to Ellis Park. Once a negative test is reported, they will not need additional testing unless they leave the local area, Kentucky or ride/race at another racetrack.
