Eventing Ireland Youth Committee Receives €60K From George Mernagh Memorial Fund

The Eventing Ireland Youth Committee (EIYC) received €60,000 from the George Mernagh Memorial Fund Limited (GMMF) for 2024, Tattersalls Ireland announced on Wednesday. Mernagh was a former managing director of Tattersalls Ireland heavily involved in equestrian sports. Last year, the GMMF awarded the EIYC €40,000 for various innovative supports. Rider Subsidy And Bursary Announced By The George Mernagh Memorial Fund

A new subsidy and bursary programme to encourage qualified riders (amateur jockeys) into racing was established by the George Mernagh Memorial Fund (GMMF) on Friday. The programme is open to all riders with the appropriate experience who aspire to become a qualified rider. Horse Racing Ireland's education, training, and people welfare division Equuip will manage both programmes.
