Every week, the TDN publishes a roundup of key official rulings from the primary tracks within the four major racing jurisdictions of California, New York, Florida and Kentucky. Here's a primer on how each of these jurisdictions adjudicates different offenses, what they make public (or not) and where. Air Quality Issues Cancel Thursday Cards

Acting upon the recommendation of the Delaware Thoroughbred Racing Commission (DTRC) veterinarians in conjunction with the Horse Racing Integrity and Safety Authority's (HISA) air quality guidelines, Delaware Park has cancelled its live racing card scheduled for today, the track said in a release Thursday. Live racing is scheduled to resume tomorrow, Friday, June 30th. Poor air quality also prompted officials at JACK Thistledown and at Charles Town to call off their live racing programs Thursday. Heavy Rain Cancels Delaware Park Friday Card

With heavy rain in the area, Delaware Park has cancelled the June 16 live racing card, the track said in a release Friday. Updates will follow concerning training tomorrow morning and Saturday's eight-race card. Falsified Delaware Workout Leads To $2,000 Fine

The stewards at Delaware Park have fined trainer Don Bryant, Jr. $2,000 for a series of "not conducting business in a proper manner" infractions that started with the falsification of a workout for an 0-for-12 maiden-claiming gelding he reportedly owns that hadn't raced in nearly a year. According to the June 15 ruling, the stewards "received evidence that Trainer Bryant falsified a workout" for the 4-year-old gelding Dondada (Klimt) on May 10, 2023, at Delaware Park. NJ Commission Suspends Cobb

Amber Cobb, the Thoroughbred owner and trainer who in 2021 had her Delaware licensure revoked through 2022 for "still participating in horse racing while under suspension" for "improper or inhumane treatment" of a horse, had her New Jersey licensure suspended and was fined $11,000 in a June 7, 2023, ruling issued by the racing commission in that state. BetMakers Launches Fixed Odds Mobile App

MonmouthBets, the first legal and regulated mobile application for fixed odds betting on horse racing in the United States, has launched announced BetMakers Technology Group Friday. Delaware Park Live Racing Dates Approved for 2023

Dates for the 2023 live racing season at Delaware Park, which this year will offer 85 days from May 24 through Oct. 28, were approved by the Delaware Thoroughbred Racing Commission on Tuesday. Randall Gatlin Brandon, 80, passed away Aug. 15, 2022 in his hometown of Camden, South Carolina. He was the son of the late Gatlin Randall and Frances Johns Brandon. $800k Sales Grad at Center of Delaware 'Neglect' Ruling

A 5-year-old Thoroughbred who auctioned for $800,000 as a yearling is at the center of a "neglect of a horse" case out of Delaware Park. In an Aug. 12 ruling, the stewards at Delaware stated that owner/trainer Alison Escobar disregarded multiple veterinary recommendations by continuing to exercise Ashiham (Tapit), a one-for-eight horse who has changed stables twice after being sold at Keeneland in 2018.
