Brittlyn Stable's Ova Charged (Star Guitar--Charged Cotton, by Dehere), winner of this year's GIII Unbridled Sidney Stakes and owner of the year's top Beyer Speed Figure, fell leaving the eighth pole during the running of Saturday's Kentucky Downs Preview Ladies' Turf Sprint Stakes and was subsequently euthanized. LA Cup Day Features Shantel Lanerie Breast Cancer Fundraiser

In support of the Shantel Lanerie Cancer Breast Foundation, Harrah's Louisiana Downs will host a fundraiser Saturday, Sept. 19. The wife of jockey Corey Lanerie was diagnosed with Stage 1 breast cancer in January, 2018, and passed away six months later. She is survived by her parents, husband and daughter, Brittlyn. Beginning at 2:00 pm on Louisiana Cup Day, a table will be set up in the grandstand with monogrammed apparel and memorabilia.
