Fierceness, Just F Y I Named Juvenile Champions

Breeders' Cup-winning 2-year-olds Fierceness (City of Light) and Just F Y I (Justify) have been named Eclipse champion 2-year-old colt and filly, respectively. Repole Stable's homebred Fierceness was tabbed a 'TDN Rising Star' following his 11 1/4-length debut victory at Saratoga Aug. 25. Ruffian Remains Relocated To Claiborne Farm

The remains of Hall of Famer Ruffian have been transferred from the infield at Belmont Park to Claiborne Farm in Paris, Kentucky, where the legendary filly was born and raised, officials at the New York Racing Association announced Thursday. NYRA has also relocated the plaque from Ruffian's gravesite at Belmont Park to Claiborne Farm. Echo Zulu Takes Champion 2YO Filly Honors As Expected

Unbeaten 'TDN Rising Star' Echo Zulu (Gun Runner) dominated in a trio of Grade I events last year for L and N Racing and Winchell Thoroughbreds and trainer Steve Asmussen: the GI Spinaway S., GI Frizette S. and GI NetJets Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies, and was an unsurprising winner of the 2021 champion 2-year-old filly Eclipse Award Thursday.
