After a years-long long battle with cancer, Southern California-based trainer Ben Cecil has passed at the age of 56. He leaves behind his wife Kirsty, and two children, Francesca and Hugo. Kentucky Derby contender Cyberknife (Gun Runner) will be greeted Thursday morning by three Cancer survivors from the Brown Cancer Center in Louisville, Kentucky. Indiana Grand Donates to Cancer Relief

Indiana Grand Racing & Casino recently donated $5,000 to the Cancer Association of Shelby County, which provides assistance to patients currently fighting cancer. The Cancer Association of Shelby County was unable to hold its major fundraiser this year due to COVID-19 restrictions. Irish Champion Jockey Pat Smullen, 43, Passes Away

Pat Smullen, Irish Champion Jockey nine times throughout his career, passed away on the evening of Sept.15 at St Vincent's Hopsital in Dublin, Ireland. Diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in March of 2018, he was 43.
