Woodbine Cancels Most of Sunday's Card

Woodbine Entertainment was forced to cancel races 3-10 on Sunday's card at the Etobicoke track due to inclement weather. The first two races were conducted under "clear" weather, according to the Equibase charts, but a significant amount of snow was on the ground and the Weather Network said up to 15 more inches of lake-effect snow could fall before the end of the day. The temperature was listed at -5 degrees in Celsius, or approximately 23 degrees in Fahrenheit. Live racing is scheduled to resume Thursday, Nov. 24.

Kentucky Downs Forced To Abandon Card

The Sunday program at Kentucky Downs, which was set to feature the GIII AGS Ladies' Marathon S., was called off following the day's second race owing to deteriorating weather conditions. Weather Forces Kentucky Downs Cancellations (Updated)

Extreme weather forced Kentucky Downs to cancel the last four races on Saturday's card, including the $1-million GIII WinStar Mint Million S. The Franklin, Ky. track will now hold the Mint Million Saturday, Sept. 10. The $500,000 Kentucky Downs Juvenile Mile, which was also scheduled for Saturday, has been moved to Wednesday, Sept. 14. Heat Forces Woodbine Cancellation

Edited Press Release Due to extreme heat in the weather forecast, Woodbine Entertainment announced that it is cancelling Sunday's racing program at Woodbine Racetrack for equine welfare and the safety of all racing participants. The Georgian Bay S. and Lake Huron S. will be rescheduled for next Friday, Aug. 12 with a post time of 1 p.m. ET. Winter Weather Forces Another Cancellation at Laurel

The lingering effects of Winter Storm Landon combined with frigid temperatures and low wind-chill factors on the backside of the storm forced the cancellation of Saturday's live racing program at Laurel Park outside of Baltimore.
