Pair Of Woodbine Graded Stakes Downgraded By Canadian Jockey Club

Woodbine's GII Bessarabian S. and the GII Royal North S. will be downgraded to Grade III status, The Jockey Club of Canada's Graded Stakes Committee said via a press release early Friday. After their annual review of the Graded and Listed Stakes slate, the organization added that all three of the top levels will remain at 42 races. Canadian Jockey Club Announces Stakes Upgrades

After its annual review of graded and listed stakes, The Jockey Club of Canada's Graded Stakes Committee has upgraded six black-type races to listed status for 2020. The number of graded stakes in Canada will remain at 45. The meeting was conducted by Committee Chair, Ross McKague who was accompanied by all Committee Members, Jeffrey Begg, Tom Cosgrove, Catherine Day Phillips and Jockey Club of Canada's Chief Steward R.
