California Chrome to Race in 2016

Dual Classic winner and 2014 Horse of the Year California Chrome (Lucky Pulpit) will race in 2016, trainer Art Sherman said on Roger Stein's radio show Sunday. The chestnut was originally scheduled to run in the GI Arlington Million Aug. 15, but was taken out of contention after sustaining a bruised cannon bone. Horse of the Year and dual Classic winner California Chrome (Lucky Pulpit) will likely be out for the remainer of the 2015 season after x-rays showed a cannon bone bruise. The chestnut was second in the GII San Antonio Invitational S. Feb. 7 and runner-up in the G1 Dubai World Cup Mar. 28.
