Weatherbys has unveiled details of its E-Passport, which will go live in 2021 and will include stallion, mare and foal registration; pre- and post-racing vaccinations and medications, owner updates and full identification. The E-Passport could have significant implications for the cross-border movement of horses post-Brexit. Elements of the E-Passport are already in use within Britain, Ireland and other jurisdictions. Digital Passport Idea Proposed for European Horse Movement

An equine digital passport solution, which would ensure the efficient cross-border movement of sport, racing and breeding horses beginning in 2021, was proposed by the International Horse Sports Confederation Taskforce (IHSC) for Brexit and European Union Animal Health Law on Tuesday. Brexit Steering Group Releases Update

Following the UK leaving the European Union on Jan. 31, 2020, an implementation/transition period lasting from Feb. 1, 2020 to at least Dec. 31, 2020 will begin, the Thoroughbred Industries Brexit Steering Group (TIBSG) announced in an update on Monday.
