Fasig-Tipton and Ocala Breeders' Sales Company have come to an agreement to switch dates for the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic Fall Yearlings Sale and OBS October Yearlings Sale. Fasig-Tipton's sale will now be held Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 5-6, in Timonium, Maryland to coincide with the rescheduled GI Preakness S. in nearby Baltimore. The concept of selling bloodstock online has never caught on in the U.S., but an Australian named Anthony Gafa thinks he can change that. The Texas Thoroughbred Association has instituted a consignor incentive program for the Aug. 24 Texas Summer Yearling and Horses of Racing Age Sale at Lone Star Park. Thanks to the passage of H.B. 2463, which injects up to $25 million annually into the Texas horse industry, funds are available to rebate up to half of the $400 consignment fee for all horses passing through the ring, including horses not bred in Texas.
