Dilger Equine Scholarship Foundation to Host Golf Tournament

The Gerry Dilger Equine Scholarship Foundation will hold its inaugural golf tournament and auction Oct. 10 at Houston Oaks Golf Course in Paris, Kentucky. In a short period of time the foundation has awarded scholarships to eight young people from North America and Europe. Mandy Pope outlasted Chad Brown, who was bidding on behalf of Peter Brant, to take home a Tapit filly out of MSW & GSP Danzatrice (Dunkirk) (Hip 603) for $1.1 million during the Book 2 opener at Keeneland Wednesday. It did not take long for the action to get going during Book 2's opening session Wednesday with Hip 383, a colt by sensational young sire Gun Runner, summoning $1.05 million just minutes into the session.
