Following the release of its Apr. 6 Pop-Up Sale, the schedule for the Arqana Online Sale calendar was announced by the sales company on Thursday.  There will be four formal Arqana Online Sales set for the second half of the year and several pop-up sales, that have yet to be announced. Contrail Will Retire to Shadai After Japan Cup Run

Last year's Japanese Triple Crown winner and dual champion Contrail (Jpn) (Deep Impact {Jpn}--Rhodochrosite, by Unbridled's Song) will retire to Shadai Stallion Station in Japan after making his final start in the G1 Japan Cup on Nov. 28. 2022 Indiana Grand Dates Approved

The Indiana Horse Racing Commission approved a request for dates for the 2022 racing season at Indiana Grand Racing & Casino during a Tuesday meeting. The 127-day racing season will begin Apr. 19 and end Nov. 23, 2022. The schedule marks the most racing dates in one season for Indiana Grand. The bulk of the racing season will be contested Monday through Thursday. Oaklawn will celebrate 2020 champion sprinter Whitmore (Pleasantly Perfect) with Whitmore Day, held at Oaklawn Park Mar. 19. One-Meeting Per Day UK Jockey Protocol to Continue Through 2022

The one-meeting per day protocol for jockeys will continue through 2022, the British Horseracing Authority (BHA) and the Professional Jockeys Association (PJA) confirmed on Wednesday. Initially introduced as part of measures designed to ensure racing's safe return behind closed doors during the COVID-19 pandemic, the protocol has been extended after consultation with jockeys and other stakeholders. Nick Mustoe Will Be New Sandown Chairman in 2022

Nick Mustoe has been appointed the new Chairman of Sandown Park Racecourse from Jan. 1, 2022, replacing Peter Jensen, The Jockey Club announced on Tuesday. Mustoe was previously on the Kempton Park Committee for 13 years and served as chairman between 2013 and 2018.
