BRILAND (McKinzie), the second to race after SW Miuccia (Mitole), will have her turn for trainer Chad Brown and the ownership group of Gainesway, Bradley Thoroughbreds, Cambron Equine and Alan Northcutt. Featured in TDN's Summer Breezes segment, the $675,000 buy at OBS April was initially purchased for $200,000 by Scoot Stables during Keeneland September. Briland's dam, Bay Harbor (Speightstown), is herself out of GSW Our Khrysty (Newfoundland). This second dam–a half-sister to GI Whitney Handicap hero Bullsbay (Tiznow)–also produced GISW Grace Adler (Curlin) and GI Stephen Foster Stakes runner-up Pyrenees (Into Mischief).

Set for her unveiling is Rational Theory (Practical Joke). The filly was bought for $160,000 by Amo Racing at Keeneland September and then went for $525,000 to Case Clay Thoroughbred Management at the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic May Sale. Owned by Wathnan Racing and trained by Steve Asmussen, the juvenile is the first registered foal for Aunt Dorothy (Uncle Mo). TJCIS PPS

Making his first appearance over the Monmouth grass course is Peter Brant's Dirand (Ire) (Sottsass {Fr}). The Chad Brown trainee is out of Unaided (GB) (Dansili {GB}), who Brant's White Birch Farm acquired for €1.25 million at the 2019 Arqana Breeding Stock Sale. Unaided is also responsible for GI Breeders' Cup Mile heroine Uni (GB) (More Than Ready). TJCIS PPS

Bobby Flay bred Tenma (Nyquist), who after selling to All Star Bloodstock for $200,000 during Keeneland September, was taken home by Baoma for $850,000 at the OBS April Sale. Sent to Bob Baffert, the dark bay filly is out of unraced Amagansett (Tapit), a $400,000 purchase by Kimura Hidenori Co. at the 2023 Fasig-Tipton Fall Sale. Tenma's second dam, Irish stakes winner Twirl (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) is a full-sister to Irish MG1SW Misty For Me (Ire) who counts among her offspring English MG1SW U S Navy Flag (War Front).

Spendthrift Farm secured Wren (Into Mischief) for $500,000 at the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Yearling Sale. Trained by Richard Mandella, the bay filly is a half-sister to the late champion older dirt male Improbable (City Zip) and is from an extended female family which includes sire Hard Spun (Danzig).
