Stakes-Placed Bellavinino Tops Inglis Digital USA September Sale

Bellavinino (Get Stormy), a latest second in the $1-million Kentucky Downs Juvenile Fillies Stakes, brought a final bid of $170,000 from prominent owner/breeder Bill Heiligbrodt to top the Inglis Digital USA September Sale.

Bred by Brian Burns's Mt Joy Stables Inc. the dark bay filly easily defeated $35,000 maiden claimers on Gulfstream Park debut July 28 ahead of a fourth in a $250,000 restricted allowance test at Kentucky Downs Aug. 29. Returned on 10 days' rest for the Juvenile Fillies, Bellavinino was always handy to the pace and overcame some traffic trouble to finish second.

Bellavinino was consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency on behalf of her previous owner C2 Racing Stable. She was made available for inspection at the barn of trainer Saffie Joseph, Jr.

“This filly was a win-win for me,” Heiligbrodt said. “She's a stakes-quality racehorse, so I can enjoy running her, but ultimately, she'll be a great fit with my new stallion Cogburn (Not This Time). I have horses with Saffie, so I was aware she was in the sale through my connections in that barn. The digital sales create convenient opportunities to buy a horse like this.”

Cogburn is a leading candidate for this year's GI Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint and set a record of :59.80 in winning the 5 1/2-furlong GI Jaipur Stakes during the Belmont Racing Festival at Saratoga.

“We maintained strong numbers in line with our first sale, supported by an expanded catalog, and were excited with the sale of Bellavinino for $170,000,” said Liza Hendriks, CEO of Inglis Digital USA. “Our digital sales are continuing to grow each month, and we are already having entries come in for our October Sale.”

Entries for the Inglis Digital USA October Sale are now open through Monday, Oct. 21. The catalog will be released Friday, Oct. 25 and the horses will sell Oct. 29. To enter a horse in the October Sale or to register as a bidder, visit www.inglisdigitalusa.com.
