Goffs have released the catalogue for their Sportman's Sale, increased to two days this year Sept. 29 & 30 directly following the Orby Sale. Strong demand from vendors following a successful 2015 edition which saw a 25% increase in average and a 90% clearance rate sees Goffs catalogue 479 yearlings throughout Part I and Part II of the sale. Commenting on the launch of the Sportsman's catalogue, Goffs chief executive Henry Beeby said, “The expanded 2016 Sportsman's Sale will ensure that a trip to Goffs is essential for yearling buyers at all levels as between Orby and Sportsman's we will offer four days of quality and value to appeal to every need and every budget. Classic winners, Group 1 winners, top 2-year-olds; our yearling catalogues truly offer the full range.” The Sportsman's Sale has been a reliable source of talented horses and graduates include My Dream Boat (Ire) (Lord Shanakill), winner of this year's G1 Prince Of Wales's S. at Royal Ascot for trainer Clive Cox and owners Paul & Clare Rooney. My Dream Boat was bought at the 2013 sale by Shanavill Stables for only €16,000.
