CHANTILLY LACE (IRE) (f, 2, Lope De Vega {Ire}–Seeking Solace {GB} {SP-Fr}, by Exceed And Excel {Aus}), introduced in this novice in which her stable's Group 1 performer Remarquee (GB) (Kingman {GB}) began her story, was sent off the 6-4 favourite and travelled smoothly in second until finding herself in front with over two furlongs remaining. Coaxed clear from there, the half-sister to No Nay Never's G1 July Cup and G1 Middle Park Stakes-winning sire Ten Sovereigns (Ire) had a comfortable 1 1/2-length margin to spare over Char (Ire) (New Bay {GB}) at the line. “She was very green and didn't really know what to do, which was what I expected as she's a big tall filly who I think will furnish significantly over the winter,” Beckett said, before revealing that the winner would tread the same path as Remarquee. “There is much to look forward to I think and that'll be it for the year. Hopefully, we'll be able to get her ready for the [G3] Fred Darling or something like that, as she's potentially a Guineas filly. I wouldn't think she'll get more than a mile, being a half to Ten Sovereigns.” The listed-placed dam is out of the G3 Derrinstown Stud 1,000 Guineas Trial Stakes runner-up Flamelet (Theatrical), who also produced the G2 Al Fahidi Fort runner-up Flash Fire (Ire) by Lope De Vega's sire Shamardal. Related to Dubawi's G1 Oakleigh Plate heroine Shamal Wind (Aus) and G2 Rockfel Stakes winner Al Thakira (GB), Seeking Solace has a filly foal by Baaeed (GB) to come.
