Amidst all of the craziness and uncertainty facing the world and our industry, there have been two things that have particularly given me solace and comfort during these hard times.

I begin each day walking down to our foaling barn and seeing the new foals, if any, from the night before. It gives me a sense of reassurance that, while there is so much anxiety and despair out there, ultimately life goes on and that this too shall pass. With each new foal comes newfound hope for virus-free days and future dreams.

The second is my faithful four-legged companion Mabel who accompanies me on my walks–ever searching for a good stick to romp around with! She and the foals are a reminder of the many good things out there. We just have to choose to see them.
