East Coast Weather Cancellations Due To Storm

The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) canceled Saturday's live racing program at Aqueduct Racetrack due to a powerful winter storm forecast that was set to impact the New York City metropolitan area throughout the day.

The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a winter weather advisory for the downstate region and the NWS forecast, which aligns with NYRA's independent weather services, called for accumulating snow with sustained high winds and gusts up to 50 mph.

Saturday's featured $100,000 Correction S. will be brought back for Saturday, Mar. 19. Aqueduct was to remain open for simulcasting, while live racing is expected to resume Sunday, Mar. 13 with a nine-race card featuring the $100,000 Damon Runyon. First post on Sunday is 1:20 p.m. ET.

Similar conditions farther south also forced the cancellation of live racing at Laurel Park outside of Baltimore. Full-card simulcasting remained open and live racing is set to resume there Sunday at 12:40 p.m. ET with nine races programmed.
