Santry (Ire) (Harbour Watch {Ire}), winner of the Brocklesby Conditions S. on Apr. 1 and second to subsequent Group 1 winner Sioux Nation (Scat Daddy) in the G2 Norfolk S. at Royal Ascot, suffered a fatal injury on the gallops on Wednesday morning. Trainer Declan Carroll confirmed the news at Beverley on Wednesday, saying, “He broke a leg on the gallops this morning. I can't believe we've lost him.”
Santry had been due to make his first run since Royal Ascot in next Saturday's G2 Gimcrack S.
