Following his completion of the Triple Crown in the GI Belmont S. Saturday, Zayat Stable's American Pharoah (Pioneerof the Nile) has taken over the top spot on the most recent Longines World's Best Racehorse Rankings, which were released Thursday. His current rating is 128–three points above Hong Kong's Royal Ascot-bound Able Friend (Aus) (Shamardal), GI Santa Anita H. hero Shared Belief (Candy Ride {Arg}), and Saturday's G1 Epsom Derby hero Golden Horn (GB) (Cape Cross {Ire}). Able Friend and Shared Belief were tied on top of the last Longines Rankings, released May 14. At that time, before winning the GI Preakness S. and Belmont, American Pharoah was rated 124.
Tied for fifth in the rankings at 124 is dual-G1 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe winner Treve (Fr) (Motivator {GB})–the co-highest rated horse in the world in 2013–who made a successful seasonal debut in the G2 Prix Corrida at Saint-Cloud May 29. Solow (GB) (Singspiel {Ire}), this year's G1 Dubai Turf and G1 Prix d'Isaphan winner, is also rated 124.
Rounding out the top 10 are Designs on Rome (Ire) (Holy Roman Emperor {Ire}) and Lankan Rupee (Aus) (Redoute's Choice {Aus}) at 123 and Firing Line (Line of David) and Gleneagles (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) at 122.
