O'Shea Fined In Strangles Case

John O'Shea | Racing and Sports

Trainer John O'Shea has been fined A$30,000 for his part in the Godolphin strangles case. Racing NSW stewards found that former Godolphin Australia head trainer John O'Shea and former Godolphin Australia Managing Director Henry Plumptre had failed to properly report a case of strangles in the stable last August. Plumptre pled guilty and had a A$20,000 fine reduced to A$15,000, while O'Shea, who pled not guilty, was further penalized for allegedly providing false or misleading evidence to stewards.
