O'Rourke To Leave National Stud

Brian O'Rourke | Racing Post

Brian O'Rourke, who has served as managing director of The National Stud for more than eight years, will stand down from that position in March 2017 to take up a position with Copgrove Hall Stud in Yorkshire.

“I am very proud to have served as Managing Director of The National Stud and of the achievements we have delivered over the past eight years. I wish the team all the best for the future and I am excited about my next venture.”

The National Stud now seeks to recuit a new managing director. Ben Sangster, chairman of The National Stud, said, “This is an excellent opportunity for a high-calibre stud manager with experience in Britain or overseas. Brian and the team have done a fantastic job over the last few years and the new managing director will be coming in with solid foundations on which to build. I have greatly enjoyed working with Brian, who has been first-class in every sense. I should also like to take this opportunity to express our continuing gratitude to our customers for all their support and we look forward to seeing them in the new breeding season.”
