GI Kentucky Oaks heroine Shedaresthedevil (Daredevil) faces her elders Sunday at Keeneland in the GI Juddmonte Spinster S., a “Win and You're In” for the GI Breeders' Cup Distaff. A dominant optional claimer winner at Churchill June 5, the bay romped in the GIII Indiana Oaks July 8 and upset the Oaks at 15-1 last time Sept. 4.
Grade I winner Ollie's Candy (Candy Ride {Arg}) has been knocking at the door of another top-level victory all season, starting with a third in the GI Beholder Mile in March. She missed by a head in the GI Apple Blossom H. Apr. 18 and was a close third in the GI Ogden Phipps S. June 13. The dark bay enters off a runner-up effort when trying to defend her GI Clement L. Hirsch S. title Aug. 2.
Valiance (Tapit) gets another try on dirt after a solid victory in the slop in an off-the-turf renewal of the Eatontown S. Aug. 29 at Monmouth Park. She won the grassy Open Mind S. last year and captured an optional claimer on the turf at Colonial Downs July 28.
Groupie Doll S. winner Lady Kate (Bernardini) takes another crack at top-level company after finishing second to champion Monomoy Girl (Tapizar) in the GI La Troienne S. last time Sept. 4.
