+EMINENT (IRE) (c, 2, Frankel (GB)">Frankel {GB}–You'll Be Mine {G1SP-Eng, $60,451}, by Kingmambo), who started at 6-1, tracked the leaders racing far side throughout the early stages. Sent to the front passing the qurter pole, the 150,000gns TATOCT yearling asserted to win by 2 3/4 lengths from Vantage Point (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}), the son of the 2003 GI Breeders' Cup Distaff and 2004 GI Santa Margarita Invitational H. heroine Adoration (Honor Grades). Azam (GB) (Dansili {GB}), the son of Giants Play (Giant's Causeway), put up a respectable debut performance in fourth, meeting trouble in running and staying on encouragingly. “He could not have done any better or anything more for us,” winning trainer Martyn Meade said. “I was a bit worried when he was out on his own, but by that time the penny had dropped and he had got sorted out. We brought him here earlier in the week to have a look around the parade ring and he conducted himself like a true professional. He has lived up to every expectation we've had of him. The great thing is we've taken our time with him and not rushed him. That might be it, as I don't want to do too much more. He will be a lovely three-year-old.” Jockey Jim Crowley added, “Those Frankels have such a big stride on them, there is no point sitting out the back waiting for a sprint. He is a proper horse. I've ridden three Frankels now and they all have massive strides on them. I think he definitely has a big future. He felt like a very nice horse and he's a proper, mature two-year-old.” Eminent, who becomes the 13th winner for his first-season sire (by Galileo {Ire}), is one of only two living foals bred from the G1 Fillies' Mile third You'll Be Mine, a daughter of the high-class Quarter Moon (Ire) (Sadler's Wells). She was the winner of the G1 Moyglare Stud S. and finished runner-up in the G1 Epsom Oaks, G1 Irish 1000 Guineas and G1 Irish Oaks while the best of her progeny so far is last year's G1 Pretty Polly S. winner Diamondsandrubies (Ire) (Fastnet Rock {Aus}). Quarter Moon's full-sister Yesterday (Ire) went one better in the Irish Guineas and was also second at Epsom, while her other sibling All My Loving (Ire) was third in the English and Irish Oaks prior to producing the ill-fated G2 Hardwicke S. and G2 King Edward VII S. scorer Thomas Chippendale (Ire) (Dansili {GB}). The third dam Jude (GB) (Darshaan {GB}) is a half to Alouette (GB) (Darshaan {GB}), dam of the MG1SW Alzao pair Alborada (GB) and Albanova (GB), the G3 Doncaster Cup heroine Alleluia (GB) (Caerleon) and the MGSW Last Second (Ire) (Alzao), later the dam of Aussie Rules.
