The Race Track Chaplaincy of America (RTCA) is accepting nominations for its 22nd Annual White Horse Award, the organization said in a release.
The White Horse Award is given to an individual, or individuals, who has/have done something heroic on behalf of human or horse in the past 12 months. This year's winner will be honored by a special video presentation at the Race Track Chaplaincy's Night of Faith, Hope & Love event Tuesday, Oct. 29 at Del Mar just prior to the beginning of the Breeders' Cup.
David Pope was the 2023 winner, and was awarded the honor after donating his kidney to a stranger. His story may be viewed here.
