New Vocation to Hold Silent Auction on LA Derby Day

Owners with horses racing at the Fair Grounds on Louisiana Derby Day Saturday are being encouraged to pledge a percentage of their earnings to support New Vocations efforts. All funds raised will go directly to support the horses currently at the Louisiana facility, which has already served over 50 retired racehorses since opening last year.

In addition to the pledge New Vocations will have an online auction with a variety of items ranging from unique New Orleans art to gift baskets and packages. The online auction can be viewed here and will run until Sunday, March 22 at 6:00 p.m.

“It's been a pleasure to help serve the Louisiana horsemen with New Vocations,” said Rosie Napravnick. “I'm thrilled with the reception from the racing community in Louisiana and hope both the pledge and silent auction are able to raise much needed funds for our satellite facility in Covington. We have received great support from the horsemen, which has enabled us to grow in a rather short period of time.”

Napravnick joined forces with New Vocations last year to open a satellite facility in Covington. She has been instrumental in the expansion and has played a key role in helping raise funds and awareness for the new facility.
