Multiple graded stakes winner Disco Partner (Disco Rico-Lulu's Number, by Numerous) has been retired from racing and will stand the 2020 breeding season at Rockridge Stud in Hudson, New York. A stud fee will be set at a later date.
The winner of consecutive editions of the GII Jaipur Invitational S. (Grade III for the 2017 renewal), the grey also registered repeat victories in the Belmont Turf Sprint Invitational S. In the 2017 Jaipur, the Patricia Generazio hombred stopped the clock in a world-record 1:05.67 for six furlongs on the turf with a 109 Beyer Speed Figure. He also twice in the GI Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint.
“I believe Disco Partner is a very exciting prospect for New York breeders,” said his trainer Christophe Clement. “He had a tremendous amount of speed, and speed is always dangerous. He also had a fantastic turn of foot, and he's retiring perfectly sound after consistently racing for many years at the highest level.”
Disco Partner retires with 11 wins from 33 starts and $1,487,560 in career earnings.
“We are honored that Mr. and Mrs. Generazio want to stand such an accomplished racehorse with us,” said Lere Visagie, owner of Rockridge Stud. “He will offer breeders a very nice outcross for many New York mares.”
