Mabs Cross Defies a Penalty In the Palace House

Mabs Cross gets up on the outside | Racing Post

By

Reminiscent of the sensational effort of Marsha (Ire) (Acclamation {GB}) two years ago, David Armstrong's Mabs Cross (GB) (Dutch Art {GB}) defied a 7-pound penalty for her G1 Prix de l'Abbaye triumph in Saturday's G3 Zoustar Palace House S.. Held up by Paul Mulrennan with just the 6-4 favourite Sergei Prokofiev (Scat Daddy) behind early, the 5-year-old skipped down the “dip” and powered up the rising ground to deny Equilateral (GB) (Equiano {Fr}) in the final stride for a neck success at odds of 6-1.
