MGSW Lewis Bay (Bernardini), third in the GI Kentucky Oaks last time May 6, worked four furlongs in :48.21 (12/68) at Belmont Saturday as she sets her sights on the GI Mother Goose S. at that venue in six days. “She breezed fantastic today,” said Brown. “Her workouts are now completed, so we're looking forward in returning her back to the races.”
Brown also revealed that Economic Model (Flatter), a breakout winner of Belmont's Easy Goer S. June 11, would likely resurface in the July 9 GIII Dwyer S. The bay colt covered four panels in :49.56 (36/68) at Big Sandy Saturday. “He did fine,” Brown commented. “He had his first little workout since his Easy Goer win and we're leaning towards running in the Dwyer.”
