A robust field of 13 line in Saturday's GI Claiborne Breeders' Futurity at Keeneland, a 'Win and You're In' for the GI Breeders' Cup TVG Juvenile at Del Mar Nov. 5. The sole black-type winner in the field is Phoenix Thoroughbred's Double Thunder (Super Saver), who comes into this off a narrow victory in Monmouth's one-mile Sapling S. Sept. 5. A confident 4 3/4-length winner second time out in Churchill's June 26 GIII Bashford Manor S., the Todd Pletcher trainee was a well-beaten fourth in the GII Saratoga Special S. Aug. 14. Paco Lopez, aboard for the colt's latest win, gets the return call. Don't Wait Up (Upstart) gave a good account of himself when getting nosed out going six panels at Saratoga Aug. 14 but returned to that venue to go one better in the mud, winning by two lengths over Commandperformance (Union Rags), who returned to finish runner up in the
GI Champagne S. The 1 1/16-mile test also features TDN Rising Star Stellar Tap (Tapit), who looked like the real deal when airing over next-out winner Keepcalmcarryon (Union Rags) in a seven-furlong Spa test Aug. 7. Favored in his latest, the L and N Racing and Winchell Thoroughbreds' representative encountered a problematic trip in Churchill's Sept. 18 GIII Iroquois S., coming home fifth. Trained by Steve Asmussen, the gray will be re-joined by Ricardo Santana Jr.
