Just The Judge's Second Foal Debuts

Nash Nasha as a foal at Arqana | Arqana

Observations on the European Racing Scene turns the spotlight on the best European races of the day, highlighting well-pedigreed horses early in their careers, horses of note returning to action and young runners that achieved notable results in the sales ring. Today's Observations features the second foal out of the ill-fated Classic winner Just The Judge.

12.45 Newmarket, Mdn, £10,000, 2yo, 7fT
NASH NASHA (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}) is one of three Godolphin representatives here but the most significant on breeding as a daughter of the G1 Irish 1000 Guineas and GI E. P. Taylor S. heroine Just the Judge (Ire) (Lawman {Fr}). She is the second of just three foals out of Just The Judge, who died following complications from colic last year. Charlie Appleby saddles all of the trio in the royal blue and James Doyle takes the ride on this €1-million Arqana December Breeding Stock Sale graduate.

2.35 Leopardstown, Mdn, €16,500, 2yo, 7f 30yT
VAN GOGH (American Pharoah) is the 12th foal out of the 2001 G1 Irish 1000 Guineas and G1 Epsom Oaks heroine Imagine (Ire) (Sadler's Wells), which makes him a half-brother to the high-class and ill-fated Horatio Nelson (Ire) (Danehill). Aidan O'Brien introduces the February-foaled bay against Khalid Abdullah's Masen (GB) (Kingman%20(GB)#tot">Kingman {GB}), a Ger Lyons-trained grandson of Intercontinental (GB) (Danehill), and Toshihiro Matsumoto's Toshizou (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}), a Joseph O'Brien-trained half-brother to last year's Listed Windsor Castle S. winner Southern Hills (Ire) by Galileo's freshman son Gleneagles (Ire).

6.10 Salisbury, £5,400, 3yo/up, 6f 213yT
AMERICAN ENTENTE (War Front) debuts for Stone Farm LLC & Speedway Stables LLC and John Gosden and is a full-sister to the G1 Phoenix S., G1 National S. and G1 Dewhurst S.-winning first-season sire Air Force Blue. Meeting her on this belated debut is Merry Fox Stud Limited's fellow newcomer Tinker Toy (GB) (War Front), a Roger Varian-trained son of the G1 Moyglare Stud S. winner Cursory Glance (Distorted Humor).
