Ger Lyons's reserve of smart 2-year-olds is deep this season and another stepped forward on Sunday as the newcomer Revoke (GB) (Blue Point {Ire}–Discipline {GB}, by Dansili {GB}) impressed in the opening six-furlong maiden.
Prominent from the outset under Colin Keane racing in the far-side group, the 11-10 favourite took command two out and stayed on powerfully to record a 4 3/4-length success from Say Yes To Dreams (Ire) (Siyouni {Fr}).
“Colin said she's done what we said she'd do at home which is lovely,” Lyons said. “That's her first time away and her first time galloping on turf. We won't shy away with her, from what we can get at two, and heading for black-type as she's quick. We'll just see how she takes this, as there is nothing of her and she's only a 410-kilos filly. She'll either come forward from this or she'll go back, so she'll tell me what to do. Worst-case scenario, she'll be in Dundalk for the Mercury or something like that.”
The winner is currently the last known foal out of the dam, who won the Listed Naas Oaks Trial here and is a full-sister to the 20-times black-type winner and G1 Prix du Jockey Club runner-up Famous Name (GB) and the G3 Concorde Stakes and G3 Killavullan Stakes scorer Big Break (GB), as well as being a half to the GIII Sycamore Stakes winner Renown (GB) (Champs Elysees {GB}). This is also the family of the multiple group 1-winning Australian legend Makybe Diva (GB) (Desert King {Ire}).
