China Horse Club, WinStar Farm and trainer Bill Mott debut a rare stateside Japanese-bred in YOSHIDA (Jpn) (Heart's Cry {Jpn}) going a mile on the Aqueduct lawn. Bought for ¥94 million as a JRHA select yearling, the bay is out of 2011 GI Ballerina S. heroine Hilda's Passion (Canadian Frontier) and has legged up with a series of sharp-looking breezes, most recently covering five furlongs on the Belmont main track in 1:01 flat (2/11) Nov. 9. Katsumi Yoshida's Northern Farm acquired Hilda's Passion for $1,225,000 at the 2011 Fasig-Tipton November sale. TJCIS PPs

Hill 'n' Dale homebred SILHOUETTE (Smart Strike) kicks off her career for trainer Josie Carroll in this full field. The dark bay is out of GSW and 2009 Sovereign Award-winning older mare Serenading (A.P. Indy), who is also a full-sister to MSW/GISP Handpainted. Second dam Daijin (Deputy Minister) is a GISP full-sister to 1997 GI Belmont S. hero Touch Gold and a half to Canada's 1989 Triple Crown winner and dual champion With Approval (Caro). Zayat Stables will unveil firster Mrs. Fouad (Creative Cause), a $185,000 Fasig-Tipton July graduate who is a half to MGSW Yankee Fortune (Yankee Gentleman). The gray's dam is a half to GISW Tarlow (Stormin Fever). The Mark Casse barn will be represented by Samurari'sfirstlady (First Samurai), a half to GSW Lakota Brave (Northern Prospect) who went for $185,000 at OBS April after covering an eighth in :9 4/5. Rockingham Ranch sends out firster BOBBY ABU DHABI (Macho Uno), who was easily the most expensive horse from his sire sold this year, hammering down for $335,000 at OBS April after breezing one furlong in :9 4/5. The chestnut has shown plenty of spark in the mornings at trainer Peter Miller's base, including a five-furlong bullet from the gate in :59 1/5 Nov. 3. It wouldn't be a California juvenile race without a fast-working Bob Baffert firster, and his charge in here is Gary and Mary West's Match Play (Mineshaft">Mineshaft). Out of a half to GISW Friendly Michelle (Artax), the $65,000 KEESEP buy has touted himself with several sparkling moves, including a best-of-92 half-mile in :46 3/5 Nov. 6 at Santa Anita. Adorned (Uncle Mo), who went for $220,000 at OBSMAR following a :10 flat furlong breeze, also merits a look having worked six furlongs in a bullet 1:12 1/5 from the gate Oct. 27 in Arcadia.
