Todd Pletcher will debut fast-working firster BLIND AMBITION (Tapit) in this elongated sprint on the Pegasus undercard. Out of the speedy MSW Starfish Bay (Elusive Quality), who once ran a 104 Beyer over the local turf, the bay colt sold for $400,000 as a Fasig-Tipton Midlantic juvenile and sports several bullet breezes at Palm Beach Downs, including a five-furlong move in 1:00 4/5 (1/5) there Jan. 15. Shug McGaughey unveils Robert S. Evans homebred Eastport (Malibu Moon), a half-brother to GSW/GISP Sightseeing (Pulpit) and GISP Sea Island (Pulpit) out of MGISP Resort (Pleasant Colony), herself a half to MGSW With Distinction (Storm Cat). Eastport shows an upbeat worktab for his barn, highlighted by a local five-panel spin from the gate in 1:00 4/5 (2/26). Of the horses to have run already, Lookin for Eight (Lookin At Lucky) appears the most intriguing. The chestnut was a distant second to 'TDN Rising Star' Battalion Runner (Unbridled's Song) with an 80 Beyer on debut Dec. 31 and came back to blow out a sharp half-mile in :47 2/5 (2/80) here Jan. 21.
