The opening of Saratoga promises the unveiling of exciting juvenile prospects, and a group of 10 fillies will comprise the first open-company 2-year-old race of the meet. Todd Pletcher, fresh off of winning two-thirds of this year's Triple Crown, is sure to have some precocious babies, and he leads with Calumet Farm's HONEY GLOW (Speightstown). The dark bay is out of an unraced full-sister to this barn's MGSW/MGISP Indian Vale, who is herself out of Marley Vale (Forty Niner), the 1999 GI Test S. heroine at this oval. The homebred shows consistently above-average workouts, capped off by a half-mile breeze in :48 4/5 (18/57) on the local main track. Southwest Racing's Country Affair (Uncle Mo&log=">Uncle Mo) has an unassuming worktab for the D. Wayne Lukas barn, but is bred to be a runner, being out of a half-sister to MGISW and star sire Pioneerof the Nile (Empire Maker). The $350,000 Keeneland September buy attracts the services of Javier Castellano, but will have to navigate a trip from the outermost stall. Jay Em Ess Stable went to $175,000 at the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic Fall Yearling sale to secure Sororitysweetheart (Discreetly Mine). The full-sister to MGSW Classy Class flashed speed in a half-mile gate spin over the Belmont training track in :49 flat (2/33) July 12. TJCIS PPs —@JBiancaTDN
