The upward figures observed during the three-day Session I of the 2015 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale continued into Session II Wednesday, resulting in new record average, gross and clearance rate. 115 lots sold on Wednesday for a combined A$3,680,500, while the A$32,004 average demonstrated a 4% increase from last year's sale. The median also rose 4% to A$26,000, and the clearance rate for the session reached a record 80%. The gross for the four-day Inglis Premier Sale as a whole is up to a record A$48,651,000 for 584 yearlings sold at an overall clearance rate of 83%. “We couldn't be more pleased about the records set by Premier, and the rewards it has given to those vendors who have supported the sale,” Inglis Victorian Director Peter Heagney said.
Two lots shared top billing at A$100,000 Wednesday, both being knocked to Inglis as Agent: a filly from Grange Thoroughbreds (lot 660) by Hinchinbrook (Aus) out of Dashoff (Aus) (Dash For Cash {Aus}), and a colt by Stryker (Aus) from the Pivotal (GB) mare Pintle (Aus) (lot 724), consigned by Three Bridges Thoroughbreds. 22 lots by 17 different sires sold for A$50,000 or more during Session II, including the progeny of Victorian-based stallions Wanted (Aus), Master Of Design (Aus), Bel Esprit (Aus), Skilled (Aus), Turffontein (Aus), Moshe (Aus) and Reward For Effort (Aus).
Victorians dominated the bidding with Champion trainer Darren Weir in conjunction with John Foote Bloodstock leading the way, having outlaid A$371,000 for 8 Lots in Session II.
