Gulfstream Park hosted its first major Kentucky Derby prep Saturday with the running of the GII Holy Bull S. on the very day the sire for whom the race is named celebrated his 24th birthday. Making his first start since a game third in the GI Breeders' Cup Juvenile Nov. 1, Ralph Evans's Upstart (Flatter) sat a three-wide trip for the entire journey before rocketing away late for an impressive victory that pleased almost every judge. Sha Tin Racecourse is the site of the world's lone group stakes today featuring Able Friend (Aus) (Shamardal), who will look to follow up a sensational victory in the G1 Longines Hong Kong Mile with another in the Stewards' Cup, upgraded to Group 1 status for the first time.
